The success of the Koshu wine project was furthered when a partnership was forged between American beverage distributor, Allied Beverage Group and Koshu wine maker Millesimes. Robert Harmelin of the Allied Beverage Group visited Japan to meet with Koshu winemaker Ernie Singer, tour Koshu grape vineyards and taste the recently bottled 2006 vintages of Shizen-Koshu and Shizen-Zenkoji wines. Mr. Harmelin has agreed to distribute the Shizen-Koshu wines through Allied, New Jersey's largest and most comprehensive wine and spirits distributor which ranks among the ten largest such distributors in the United States.
Through a state-of-the-art warehouse and hyper-terminal facility in Mt. Laurel, NJ, Allied represents the product lines of the world’s leading suppliers of beverage alcohol and related products as it services the needs of New Jersey’s licensed package stores, restaurants, hotels, taverns and clubs. This alliance with the Allied Beverage Company is indicative of the recent surge in popularity of Koshu wine in the United States.
